Thanks to Uday I can now say I love yoga again and in particular the detail of Iyengar yoga which has helped me heal my body and calm my mind. Im now 60 and had hip resurfacing surgery at the end of 2019. I was struggling with hip pain for a prolonged period which had taken me from intermediate level yoga to virtually no practice. By early 2020 I was off crutches and slowly beginning to do some yoga, then came Covid19. I was still cautious about attending a yoga class. A friend recommended Uday's online classes. My body was now pain-free, but weak, stiff and a touch fearful. I was unsure of my capabilities, but from the moment I started Uday’s classes, every single class has been stimulating & enlightening. I have now completed 7 months of regular practice with Uday and cannot believe the personal transformation. Udays classes are live and interactive, fantastic for those like me living further away or overseas. I welcomed the ease that signing in from home offered and access to such an experienced yoga teacher. Uday with his wife Sonali assisting creates very inclusive classes. There is a range of live classes to choose from and recordings are available too. I am so grateful to Uday for his teaching. Thanks to his depth of knowledge, clear demonstrations, precise instructions not to mention his cheerful encouragement with a warm welcoming smile, today I have more strength, suppleness and new confidence in my physical body and a happier mind to go with it :)

Uday’s morning classes have improved my understanding of how my body is interconnected what works and what needs improvement.I understand the limitations in flexibility and how to address and improve the resistance. Tues/Wed/Thur mornings generally are interlinked building on each day’s previous practice but allowing that area to recover from the previous day while activating it for further extended practice. Thursday evening relaxation is excellent preparation for a good nights sleep if you are struggling with an overactive mind highly recommended

I started online zoom yoga with Uday at the beginning of March 2020 lockdown. Since then I’ve done as much yoga with Uday as I can. It has made me stronger, kept me grounded, calm, and made me sleep much better Uday is an inspirational teacher who has really mastered teaching yoga online. He is able to demonstrate the poses and the pitfalls of the poses in a way that’s very visible on the screen. I think I’ve learnt more I made more progress in the last nine months than in the last 30 years. Uday brings a gentle, calm approach but makes you want to challenge yourself to work the next level.

When COVID-19 hit the UK in March Uday decided to run regular classes on-line, Mon-Fri. Uday was aware yoga practice could help in many different ways, so he made sure the classes were accessible to all, particularly key workers or those affected financially. My own income was halved throughout since March, so this was a huge help to me. It has been a gift to continue the regular practice, and I am surprised I have maintained an increased level of practice. I now understand the wider beneficial impact on my yoga practice. Uday flexes his teaching, he starts with the basics and always takes his time to get the fundamental information across. The repetition must be frustrating for him but if we don’t pick it up he finds new ways to deliver the guidance. His patience and dedication to us, his students have been phenomenal. He provides time to anyone who needs extra help. My skiing shoulder injury has healed and my own practice is blossoming, as I begin to understand how to practice. I don’t think I would have achieved these changes without the change in the frequency of practice. I do miss the face-to-face classes, but the online practice has other benefits, I have had the chance to go inward and develop in a way that would not be possible in person due to logistics. Uday instructs positively, with kindness and you can tell you’re in the hands of an experienced teacher with the way he conducts each class. My yoga practice is unrecognisable to what it was in March, and this would not have happened had it not been for Uday’s service and commitment to adapt to the circumstances we find ourselves in. I’m truly so grateful to both Uday and his wife Sonali for delivering this opportunity to develop my yoga practice, what a wonderful team.

I would like to share my experiences of attending Uday’s online yoga classes. Uday’s classes are like a breath of fresh air. It has been said in many reviews that Uday’s face to face teaching is unique and authentic and there is no doubt that this is still the case online. Uday’s social presence online is no more different than on face to face. Each asana is a learning experience to be explored, investigated and fully appreciated. The style of teaching keeps us alert, curious, not knowing what to expect and fascinated. There is a lot of learning how to learn. It really is a wonderful atmosphere and very high-quality teaching. In addition to that, Sonali’s digitally precise demonstrations are such that there is no ambiguity as to what one is supposed to be doing. Uday also has an amazingly sharp eye. All this makes the environment safe for both beginners and experienced practitioners. I can honestly say that the high-quality teaching, friendly and safe environment is very therapeutic particularly for this pandemic period.

I am based in the US so it is a real treat to be able to enjoy his classes irrespective of location and, because he makes his class videos available to rent through Vimeo, time differences are not a barrier. Since March I have attended a lot of your general classes to improve my Sacro-iliac weakness and my general fitness. I now understand the issue much better and feel that at every class I learn something that adds to my understanding of yoga. I also know that you adjust me just often enough so that I have to concentrate and focus at all times! It was great to be able to put the classes in my diary which was in 2020 otherwise, empty! I especially love the pranayama sessions which have enabled me to realise just how tense I actually was. I hope that in future if I am ever able to travel in my campervan again I will be able to access classes from anywhere!
