Interview with Uday Bhosale, recorded during the "National Convention 2019", organised by the Belgian Iyengar Yoga Association. A former Taekwondo enthusiast, Uday was introduced to the Iyengar method by his martial arts teacher. He began learning directly with Guruji, Geetaji and Prashantji in 1999.

*****Long Post Alert***** I am delighted to share that the British Empire Medal award ceremony has now taken place and I feel very grateful to have been able to accept the award on behalf of the Iyengar Yoga Community and all of you who made it possible .! And what a delight to attend it with Sheila Haswell who was present at the event . It’s also special to have Sheila along because she gave me the first opportunity in the uk to teach at her studio for which I shall remain forever grateful. It is a big honour that would not have been possible without the blessings of Guruji, Geetaji and Prashantji. Our amazing teachers, Abhijata Iyengar, Jayne Orton, Julie Brown, Kirsten Agar Ward, Richard Agar Ward and Sheila Haswell who taught at the "Yogis unite for NHS" event during the pandemic and members of the therapy committee. Invaluable support from Jill Johnson (former Chair), Katie Owens and members of the office at IY(UK). Everyone who participated and contributed towards making this event a great success! . This beautiful luggage tag celebrating 30th anniversary of AFYI arrived in post. France holds a special place in my heart since that is where I taught my first convention in Europe.
